About

SNU Spiritualism is a religion that believes in the existence of God however we have no fixed concept of what God is.

Through philosophy and practical demonstrations Spiritualism aims to give evidence that a part of everyone, their spirit, continues to exist after death and for eternity.

Spiritualism does not dictate what to believe or how to interpret religious philosophy, there are no books or preachers whose word must be obeyed. As a basis for religious philosophy Spiritualism has Seven Principles. The concepts and original wording of the Seven Principles came through the mediumship of Emma Hardinge Britten, one of Spiritualism’s greatest mediums and speakers. Emma was inspired in 1871, by the communicating spirit of Robert Owen.

Throughout history phenomena and communication has come from spirit people giving knowledge, wisdom and guidance. In the 1840’s a family in America was bothered by ‘ghostly’ noises. When the family asked questions the noises seemed to reply and a system of spirit communication was established. The publicity about this incident travelled throughout the world and encouraged others to seek communication from the Spirit-world. The system of spirit communication and the knowledge that the spirits gave was the founding of the modern Spiritualist movement.
